About
I am a freelance copyeditor and proofreader with over a decade of experience in publishing. From 1996 to 2001, I was employed full-time as a legal editor with James Publishing and have been freelancing since 1998. In 2005, I founded Kimberly Creative Services with the mission to provide affordable editorial and creative services. My clients range from national fiction publishers to students. I have also served as an volunteer editor for Flash Me Magazine and am proud to call myself a Bastinado.
Anybody from authors to engineers, dentists to publishers, and students to small business owners can benefit from editorial and creative services. Some of my clients, past and present, include:
- Antiquariat Literary Services
- Baen Books
- Chaos Manor Writers Research
- The Dandro Group
- Dr. Gregory Ringler, DMD
- Hachette Book Group
- James Publishing
- Jeanette Furgo, Stewardship and Donor Services, Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Foundation for Children
- McMillan Engineers

I am also a reader and a writer. My reading tastes range everywhere from adoption parenting to woodworking, from literary fiction to pulp genre fiction, and from swords and sorcery to space opera. If I had to pick three favorites types of books that I read, they would be adoption parenting, writing craft, and speculative fiction. Not always in that order, but sometimes all at once. So far, my writing has been been published in two college literary journals and one collection, A Cup of Comfort for Adoptive Families. I am also a foster and adoptive mom, as well as an adoptee. These are all things I tweet and blog about if you wish to follow me on Twitter or here at my blog.
