Critiquing
In-depth critique of your completed draft, covering a general summary, your hook, pacing, conflict, setting, characterization, dialogue, theme or “What I got out of this,” and style. This critique does not include technical details such as spelling, punctuation, or grammar (proofreading or copyediting). Those additional services may be added on for a reduced rate at your request, however.
Proofreading
Corrections to spelling, punctuation, and egregious errors in grammar, consistency, or continuity.
Scan Proofreading
Corrections to errors created by OCR scanning, by comparing the result of the scan against the original document, word for word. Corrections are usually limited to bad paragraph breaks, spelling, and punctuation.
Copyediting
Corrections to spelling, punctuation, and grammar, as well as consistency and continuity. Additional attention to style, usage, and clarity. In addition to your copyedited manuscript, you will also receive a detailed style sheet, summarizing style and usage decisions made during the copyedit.
Editing
Starting with an in-depth critique, Kimberly will work with you one-on-one to develop your story from first to final draft, offering suggestions to strengthen rough areas and help your strengths shine through. Although Kimberly will offer general guidance on issues of spelling, punctuation, or grammar, this service does not include copyediting or proofreading. Those additional services may be added on for a reduced rate at your request, however.
